“TOTEM”

“TOTEM”

“Totem is a bookshelf made out of packaging Styrofoam. Packaging material for single use, such as form-pressed packaging Styrofoam for packaging technical equipment possesses a fascinating aesthetic value, and only a new function is needed to emphasize it. "

!!! Styrofoam is widely used for packaging, particularly in transport. In nature it degrades only after several hundred years, and is virtually not recycled because the recycling is not profitable. The use of Styrofoam for single use packaging of food and drinks is forbidden in many countries.

Čuvaju prirodu i uspomene.

“wallpaper unlimited – nostalgija za poneti”

Bags are made of wallpapers and cables collected from building warehouse. they present an attempt to make a new object from materials that have ended the conventional life-cycle in a way that it has a new form while still keeping remembrance of the previous identity.

Save nature and memories.

POLIGON GRUPA sa JELENOM PREKAJSKI

“wunder baum”

70 x 70 mm i 110 x 110 mm.
Vrste furnira potiču od različitog drveta: hrasta, bukve, jele, vengea, indijskog oraha..

!!! Ukupna vrednost šume uključujući njenu ekološku i zaštitnu funkciju, i do deset puta je veća u odnosu na tržišnu cenu drveta.

“wunder baum”

These Christmas tree decorations are made of veneer waste from a furniture factory. The dimensions of the decorations are approximately 70x70 mm and 110x110 mm. Different types of veneer are made of different kinds of wood: oak, beech, fir, cashew, venge….

!!! The total value of a forest, including the ecological and protective function of the forest, is up to ten times higher then the market value of wood.

MIHO

nakit

jewellery

“I find material for this type of jewellery at the wastes which collect stainless steel deriving from the old industrial machines which were made out of that material. I use pipes, shims and prochrom flah. Other material is the manure which I derive from the old damaged African figurines that I buy at the flee markets..”

TARLE

“Everybody need ” / or everybody need one pad /

“….I retrieved some paper from the printing company’s container… I found sheets in the drawers whose colours and lines the machine deformed... the unrecognizable motifs and the useless motifs seemed to me like prints ….”
At the waste take a good look to find new opportunities for new products, recognize something new – stop the waste and shedding, pay attention.

SESTRES

S ETNO

Savremnu formu odevnog predmeta smo dobile izmenivši kroj tradicionalne forme jeleka.

S ETNO

By redesigning a traditional item of clothing and making it closer to modern esthetics, not wanting to strictly define it's present use, we now have a contemporary piece that stemmed from the pattern of "jelek" (gillet).

“stolica 75% - 25% ”

“75% - 25% stool”

“We made a chair that should function as a small stool with low and twisted back. The chair is supposed to be used as for casual sitting at coffee shops. It is a blend of wood / most represented natural material in production, which is decreasing / and recycled plastic / the most represented artificial material with increasing waste /”

!!! "On one hand we have the ecological demand not to use plastic in the production, but to use wood, and on the other, we have to make sure that the wood consumption makes as little damage as possible to the forest. The two demands are in conflict… Both are justifiable, but there must be some balance ..." - Woods management. Projected wood terrain of Serbia is 42 percent, while today it is less than 30 percent.

Dog house for small dogs "TASA"

doublewood - polica

doublewood shelf

“Our doublewood shelf product endeavors to find the odd-shaped left-over pieces that normally get thrown out, and turn them into beautiful, practical products, reducing the impact on US landfills, reusing hard wood product and recycling sheet steel. We chose not to send the shelf to the exhibition because we wanted to stress the importance of using local materials and avoid unnecessary ecological footprint of the transport.”

!!! Jobsite waste from construction is a real problem in the US. More than 130 million tons of debris from construction sites is dumped in U.S. landfills each year.

SENJA

“prsluk”

"vest"

“I've made this vest from Gobelins. My mother and I have bought them, mostly in the Zemun flea market. Gobelins usually hang on walls, in a frame, and when we get bored by them, they end in a basement, shed, in the garbage, and, in the best event, on markets for second hand goods. For me it is a good opportunity to acquire a new practical object. Merging them in a new picture I have sawn a comfortable vest. / The cross stitch of a boy was found at the Zemun flea market 5 months ago, and the same style cross stitch representing a girl 2 weeks ago at the New Belgrade flea market. / “

Hanger T(H)REE

The main goal is to simplify concept of product in all its segments, but in the same time to reach the quality of the global result. The used material is waste of production. The stable construction is reached by standard technology and with few operations. The function of this independent hanger is promoted with the solution of its good sculptural hanging on the wall during time when it is out of use.

“Kamp Gajduronisi“

“Camp Gaidouronissi”

Gaidouronissi, a small island south of Crete, has only five permanent inhabitants. Several hundred others, temporary residents, camp out on the island during the summer.
All of them attempt to protect themselves from the islands strong sun and north winds. And since there are no stores of any sort on the island, the inhabitants – both the permanent and temporary ones – go about constructing fences, shelters, tents and shade using mostly the material that has washed ashore, or the scrap that other visitors have
left behind as rubbish.
Interestingly enough, permanent inhabitants take this art of recycling a little further…
